Riverdale To Riverdale and Back Again

Key: Shane Lee is Blue Syd is pink

Welcome back to another exciting, drama packed episode! Some good things happened, some not so good things went down and Archie sang a song that didn't make everyone want to kill themselves, too bad it wasn't one of his own! Anyway, I am excited to dive in! Blue text on pics are my words and white is the show quotes!

If you blinked in those first few minutes, you missed a Josie sighting!

Meanwhile, Archie and and his mom, Molly Ringwald played catch-up.

And Veronica still worried about her father's possible involvement in the Jason Blossom murder case

FP had a surprise for Juggy

Later that morning, when Archie got to school, he only had one thing on his mind

Veronica then got called into a Blue & Gold meeting with Betty and Alice

Meanwhile, up at Thornhill, Polly discovered a secret

Back at school, V held a secret meeting of her own with Alice and together they plotted

Then it was lunchtime, where Cheryl once again crashes the lunch bunch to make an announcement about her

And then you guys, the best thing ever happened: Archie learned how we all felt about his music

I loved every moment of that!!! V agreed to sing with Archie at the dance, promising they'd do upbeat covers because she really wanted Archie to help her investigate FP. But we all know how Archie thinks of "singing" together.

When Archie heard Juggy was considering moving back in with FP, he left in the middle of the night to find V.

Then it's the night of the dance and everyone was up to shannigans. Polly had a chats with Cheryl and Mrs. Blossom.

Alice threw her dinner party

And Archie and V searched FP's trailer but found nothing, so V decided to taste the Kool-Aid again

The night of the dance! And this awkward trio walked in.
And Josie and the Pussycats were no where to be seen. Also, Archie and V arrived right before their number and Betty spotted them not so discreetly talking to Alice. Then they sang a cover of Kids In America. And I am not sure what the crowd though they were doing with their cell phones.

How did Archie and V do? Let's gauge some crowd reactions to see:

For once, I totes feel just like Cheryl, lol. It wasn't bad but meh.
Anyway, during the song, FP's place was searched by police and he was like IDC you won't find anything and then they did and arrested him.

Archie and V confessed to Betty what they did.

And then Juggy learned that FP was arrested for Jason's murder and blamed the wrong person.

After the dance, Molly made her pitch to why Archie should come live with her.

But I don't think he was feeling it. Then, we ended with this little bombshell

Next week, the killer is revealed!!!! Until then, stay #RiverdaleStrong

We're getting closer. Who killed Jason Blossom? Every citizen of Riverdale has been conducting their own investigations since the cops in this town don't really seem to work. Polly is still her little snooping thing, while Alice, Betty, and now Veronica are exploring their leads. Alice was on FP's case last night and she seemed pretty convinced of his guilt. I don't really know what she was going on, other than his connection to V's dad, but she was, and still is, sure he had something to do with Jason's murder.

So, to recap, Veronica's dad is in jail because of the Blossoms. Archie overheard daddy Blossom talking about it to mommy Blossom a few episodes ago when they tried to adopt him. And then he told Betty and her mom, and then everyone else found out. That was inevitable. If Alice knows something, everyone knows that something. So, Veronica started suspecting her dad and now she's determined to discover his involvement, if any, in this case so she knows whether to trust her dad again. So when Alice summoned Betty and Veronica last night to discuss questioning FP, Veronica was eager to do it. She knows that her dad paid FP to trash the drive-in, so she thinks if FP is the murderer it's because he was paid to do it...by her dad. A revenge on the Blossoms.

Daddy Blossom takes revenge on himself daily by wearing these wigs.
Betty wants nothing to do with probing her boyfriend's dad since she already asked Juggy how he feels about his dad's innocence. He believed him when he said he wasn't a killer and so Betty trusts Jughead's judgement. But Veronica isn't loyal to Jug so she let's Alice know she's ready to discover the truth. Alice already has a plan.

Alice invites Jug and FP over to her house for a Homecoming meal to distract FP and get him away from his trailer so Veronica (joined by Archie because she wants him to be there AND because he starts to suspect FP too, so he wants to join) can then sneak in and look for evidence against him. Betty isn't wise to this part of the plan, but she does start to regret dinner as the night goes on.

And Jughead doesn't seem to be enjoying himself either.

Alice starts to grill FP about his serpent status and his connection to Hiram Lodge. Thankfully, before things got too awkward, Hal showed up!

And it wasn't uncomfortable at all. It totally was. But it was fantastic! FP turned the table on Alice and started recalling a story from the year Alice and Hal were king and queen of homecoming hell. He purposefully reveals that Hal and Alice were arguing about something that night, but doesn't tell what it was about, then gets cut off by Alice before finishing his story. But it all leads to Hal and Alice bickering about Alice "redecorating" Hal's office.

And then Alice threatens to throw bricks at Hal and it was just wonderful. I really like it when they fight. I hope they are both back next season and I hope they still have marital issues because I enjoy their misery way too much. I feel bad for Betty, though, because I don't think she is entertained by it. She quickly jumps up and suggests they head off to the dance so they don't have to be there to listen to the threats passed between Hal and Alice.

Homecoming is apparently a big deal in Riverdale so everyone that lives there was at this dance. Archie and Veronica were the big performers of the night presenting their version of  "Kids in America" and the crowd really seemed to enjoy it.

Well, most people liked it. Betty was steal processing information. Just before the couple went on Betty found out they broke into FP's trailer and snooped around. I don't really know what Cheryl's deal was. Does she still like Archie? Is she jealous or something? I don't know. But Jughead finds out about what V and Arch did too. He gets mad. He gets really mad, and he seems to be especially mad at Betty. Boo! I don't like it when he gets mad at Betty, especially when she does nothing wrong, which is, like, never. But it doesn't matter because it turns out Archie and Veronica snooping was probably a good thing.

The police get a tip to search FP's trailer. It's still unclear who gave the tip, but they got it and they searched the property to find a box in the closet that has the murder weapon in it. FP was arrested for the murder of Jason. But Veronica and Archie inform Betty that when they searched the trailer that box wasn't in that closet, or in the trailer at all. So now they know that FP is being framed! DUN DUN DUNNNN!

What will happen next week? Who will the killer be? Will Bughead survive? Will Polly keep taking poison from mommy Blossom? The majority of these questions should be answered next week! Can't wait!

Riverdale: The Lost Weekend

Hey everyone! Wow, so many things happened in this last episode: Archie continue to be a douche to everyone and Juggy may have lived with Archie a little too long, because he became a little douchy too! Betty gave us the creepiest rendition of Happy Birth Day ever, Chuck returned, someone tasted the Kool-Aid (ew) and finally, the best part of all, Cheryl was called out for #Twincest! Let's dive in!

Reminder: Blue are my words and White are actual show quotes
We started off with Archie telling V what he learned while hanging out with the rest of the gingers in town.

Then he kept telling people things he shouldn't
Then Chuck (from like seven episodes ago) showed back up! He immediately ran to Ethel.

Veronica did some detective work after hearing what Archie told her but Hermoine felt differently about it.

But then she was late to cheer practice which means only one thing. Dance off, Bring it on style! (honestly, while I did enjoy this I wonder if the choreography was done by the great peeps over at Key of Awesome or Fifth Harmony?)
And Veronica one, which made Cheryl so mad that she fired her best friends from the squad and from being her friends.

Veronica would later receive a threatening letter from her father.

The night of Juggy's party, #Bughead go to the movies
While his friends planned the surprise party that he never wanted.
Then the creepiest rendition of Happy B-Day was sung, thank you Betty
And Jughead was all of us
I know his cake was suppose to be made like a hamburger but it looked like crap, imo

And of course Archie needed some attention

But then Cheryl and Chuck arrived and the real party got started!

Joquin was there too and looked like he was so NOT into making out with Kevin

But then he spilled every secret he knew to Juggy's daddy!

And Juggy went Archie on Betty

Archie saw Val but she was worried about more pressing matters
Then Juggy tried to leaved but was stopped:

And all of the secrets came pouring out!

And Juggy and Chuck got into a fight!

The episode wrapped up with three major things. 1. #Bughead made up

Veronica tasted the Kool-Aid
And both of Archie's parents came back!

Betty's shirt. Betty's shirt, you guys. That's what this episode was to me.

That and Molly Ringwald being Archie's mom! But mainly the shirt. It was adorable, and she was adorable, and I thought she and Juggie were going to be adorable throughout the episode, but they got less adorbs as time went on. Juggie's fault, not Betty's. And partly Archie's for letting the entire school in on Juggie's birthday party, but I'm jumping ahead of myself.

It was Jughead's birthday! He didn't wanna tell anyone because he doesn't like to celebrate and he doesn't like people and all that jazz. Archie told Betty, though. He broke the...bro code? Jughead is more sophisticated than I am, he calls it a "primal betrayal." I don't know. So Betty started planning a party for her boyfriend, a quaint inner circle only party she thought he would like. They went to a movie and came back to Archie's house (a Fredless house since he went to visit his soon to be ex wife) for the surprise. Jughead wasn't thrilled, and Betty's creepy version of "Happy Birthday" probably didn't help. I don't suggest viewing this before bed because you might have nightmares.

Shit didn't hit the fan until Cheryl and Chuck showed up with every kid from Riverdale High. Archie could have easily dismissed them, but instead chose to let them all in and crash the nice little friends only party. It upsets Jug greatly and ends up being most upset with Betty. Because she's the one that invited the loud rowdy crowd in? No, that was Archie. I mean it's accurate, I guess. In all reality a popular teen boy in high school probably wouldn't turn down the opportunity to host a wild party like this one. And we all know this Archie, this was expected.

I did NOT expect Veronica to hook up with this version of Archie. Val got it right last night when she said that Archie was a mess or a hot mess or whatever it was. Hot mess, I think. He's on and off with girls, he's been really whiny lately, and he ruined the birthday party that Juggie didn't want. You know, as I typed that last part I started to see a little of where Archie was coming from when he let the party crashers in. Jughead didn't want the party to begin with and he already wasn't having a very good time, so yeah, screw it, one keg in the kitchen and one in the backyard!

Wait! NO! I have to be consistent. Archie BAD everyone else GOOD. So why, Veronica? Why you do that thing with Archie? Veronica and Archie both were in vulnerable places when the incident (from this moment on the Veronica and Archie sexy time event that occurred in The Lost Weekend will be referred to as "the incident") took place. Archie is worried about his parents and their divorce, and V is worried about having to go on record and support her dad in court.

Hiram Lodge gets worse and worse as we learn more about him. He threatened V in a passive aggressive way last night when he found out she did not want to make a statement on his behalf. He basically said he would take down her mom, Hermione, if Veronica didn't talk. As we already know, Veronica is hesitant because she found out about how shady her pops was and how he hurts people he does business with, but she also learned last night that Cheryl Blossom's dad had something to do with Hiram's imprisonment. Now the lawyer and V are concerned that Hiram had something to do with the death of Jason Blossom as some sort of revenge. These parents, man. Manipulative and mean they are. Anyway, Archie and Veronica found each other's company in the kitchen of Archie's home and they got all emotional and close and it eventually led to the incident.

Not before the party ended though. Cheryl and Chuck gather all the guests in the living room to ask highly sensitive questions. And everyone listens and participates. Why? They didn't have to participate. Cheryl and Chuck were outnumbered so why not just not listen to them? I may never know. I really shouldn't complain too much, though, because Veronica turns it around on Cheryl eventually and calls her out on her inappropriate feelings for her brother and then accuses her of killing him. It was AWESOME! Cheryl was bullying and bullies deserve to be shamed and embarrassed. Go Veronice! Go, Go VERONICA! WOOO! But things really got out of hand when Chuck started after Betty. Archie got defensive and then Juggie got physical and let Chuck hear his body talk. In other words, he punched him. Then Chuck punched Jug. Then Jug's dad threw all the kids out of the house because he was there, by the way, and hadn't done it sooner. He probably should have.

By morning a hungover Archie has the house cleaned up and ready for Fred's return. Fred comes home, but he isn't alone.

Mommy's home! I'm sure by the end of the next episode she will be a suspect in the murder of Jason Blossom. Can't wait to find out!
