Riverdale 2.17 The Noose Tightens

This episode, like many others was good, but not because of its main focus. Yes, this episode focused heavily on the Lodges and Archie, but it was the other stories that made it great! There was plenty of FP & Alice, Joise learned a secret and #Choni became official! Let’s dive in!

• I am honestly beginning to question who Archie is actually in love with, V or Hiram?
  

  
• Hiram’s associates, Lenny and Carl come to visit. Like everyone else they aren’t happy with Hermoine’s mayoral campaign and want a cut of the prison. When Archie tries to act bad, they reacted how all did!
  

  
• Adams (the faux FBI agent from earlier this second half season) turned on the Lodges.
  

  
• Archie vows to to protect the Lodges while ignoring his own family and invents the Dark Circle to “protect” Riverdale.
  

  
• Mary asks Archie if Archie knows who Archie is? I love how hard she is on Archie. She needs to stay!
  

  
• AND Fred officially announces his mayoral run against Hermoine!
  

  
• Elsewhere, in a PTA sponsored event, Alice moderated a debate #Bughead, #Varchie and this odd pairing . . .
  

  
• I wish we had seen more of this.
  

  
• In Cooplossom land, Dwayne’s (the druggine Chic killed) car is discovered, which sends our favorite mother daughter team to the men they belong with!
  

  
• #Bughead learn from Kevin that Darla, Dwayne’s ex, claimed the car, since Dwayne had stolen it! All is good until . . .
  

  
• Chic brings Darla home. And she wants $10K to keep quiet and not ask questions or she’ll point the police to the Coopers.
  

  
• Once B retrieves the money for her, she and her new beau decide they will stay and Darla threatens B.
  

  
• But of course B had backup in the form of the Serpents!
  

  
• Their secret safe for now, Alice decides it’s time for Chic to go!
  

  
• And she embraces her Southside Serpent roots (finally!)
  

  
• Finally, while Cheryl suffered with the Quiet Sisters of Mercy, Toni recruited V and Joise to help her find Cheryl.
  

  
• Penelope exposes Cheryl’s past “obsession” with Josie
  

  
• And Josie is done!
  

  
• The real MVP of this episode is Nana Rose who crawled to a phone to call Tonmi in school, and tell her where Cheryl was.
  

  
• With Kevin’s help, V and Toni find a secret tunnel and find Cheryl where #Choni becomes official as Toni saves and kisses the girl!
  

  
• While it looks like Cheryl will thank Kevin for his assist in rescuing her, she tells him she wants the lead in the school musical Carrie!!!

• I’m really worried about Nana Rose, since Claudius discovered her on the phone.
  

  
• What is FP & Alice’s ship name?
• A lot of seeds have planted for Josie to have some good stories; a pussycat redemption story, a Cheryl/Josie follow up since Josie knows the truth now and more.
• Also can Kevin be more involved and not with Chic, please?
  

  
• Finally, now Chic has been kicked out, who thinks the blackhood will reappear?

• This week in Riverdale, Archie continued to be the biggest douche canoe ever, Molly Ringwald returned, Juggy protested the Lodges, V learned the true cost of being a Lodge, while B gave Chic a taste of how dark she can be and finally, our favorite girl Cheryl realized how much danger she is in, from her own mother! Let’s dive in!
• So, Archie continued being Hiram’s little b!tch lapdog by going against almost everyone he loved, including his father
  
• Best Friend;
  
• But one woman will not take it! Enter Molly Ringwald, Archie’s mom, Mary!
  
• Archie might want to heed the wise words of his girlfriend, right V?
  
• Speaking of V, she wants to be class president after decking Reggie for making a comment about Hiram that we were all thinking.
  
• Remember how on Glee, all of the New Directions were “slushied” by their various bullies? On Riverdale, we call that milkshaking and I loved that it was Barb Ethel who “milkshaked” V!
  
• V makes B her co-president and bribes Josie for an endorsement, only to have Ethel ruin it by exposing the truth!
  
• We also didn’t have to wait long to see who was secretly working against V!
  
• The other big rivalry in Riverdale is playing out in the Cooplossoms household when B exposes the truth about Chic . . . only to have Alice drop the bombshell that expressionless Hal is not Chic’s father!
  
• When Chic think’s he has pulled another one over on B, she shows him how dark she can be.
  
• Which sends Chic to expose B’s Dark Betty wig.
  
• After jumping from sinking ship that is V’s class president run, B moves in with Juggy and decides to be his running mate for class president against V and Reggie.
  
• Finally, the most intriguing story from the episode featured Cheryl who begins to realize she is a target. After Toni  joins the Vixens, Cheryl invites her, along with B&V plus Josie for a sleepover, in order to not be alone.
• 
• But then tragedy strikes and Nana Rose is pushed by Penelope and Clifford falls down the stairs but survives.
  
• Cheryl is not stupid and knows exactly what it up.
  
• She does however admit to her mother that she knows everything, which is a huge mistake.
  
• The episode ends with Cheryl being sent to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy aka the asylum for “conversion!”
  

*****Extra Tidbits*****

• The episode began with Hal interviewing Hermoine and I’m sure we all know what he was really writing down . . .
  
• It was a big week for Kevin as not only did he (and Josie) meet Andy Cohen, but he and Chic met in person!
  
• Anyone else think Kevin should be focusing on a certain guy who shares his name with an animal?
  
• Penelope tried to tell Toni that Cheryl went away to boarding school, but we all know Toni is not as stupid as Penelope thinks she is! (PS: She and Cheryl almost had their first kiss!)

Riverdale 2.15 There Will Be Blood

SO, this week Josie and Kevin had less to do, while the Blossoms(plus the Cooplossoms) and Lodges (and Andrews) took center stage. We finally figured out what Hiram’s big plans are and Archie only flipped sides 85000 times to learn this! Let’s dive in!

• The best part to me with the drama with the Blossoms and Coopers (who really are Blossoms so I’ll call them Cooplossoms) when Cheryl walked in on Penelope and a new strange man who was not a john.
  
• Turns out Clifford Blossom had secret will and the reading will be public. Oh and Polly is back in town with twins and Chic is even creepy with the babies.
  
• Hal asks Alice for a divorce and it was really weird because B was there too.
• Cheryl invited Toni to the will reading and Penelope can sense what we saw the start of last week- a Cheryl and Toni pairing. What is there ship name?
  
• At the will reading, we learned Nana Rose gets Thistle house while Penelope gets Thornhill which is pile of ashes LOL
• The remaining half gets split between the Blossom twins (so just Cheryl) and anyone else who can prove by medical means they have Blossom blood. Cue Alice’s grand entrance who calls the Blossoms inbred and goes after Hal for trying to hide his inheritance from her and the divorce.
  
  
  
  
• Also, Mayor McCoy is now attorney McCoy. I love Alice so much!
  
• While Cheryl makes a grand speech, Clifford enters very much alive!
  
• Cheryl was all of us!
  
• Turns out this is Claudius, Clifford’s twin aka Grandpappy Cooper who faked his death to avoid the “Blossom twins Curse”
  
• Chic doesn’t want to be tested because of needles . . .whatever
• And he’s super jealous of Polly and the twins.
  
• B tries to get to the bottom of who Chic really is by having Kevin Catfish him and Kevin is the worst Catfisher ever!
  
• So B steals some DNA and has it tested and surprise, Chic isn’t really who he says he is!
  
• And if you think Claudius is a chill dude, turns out he’s going to help Penelope get revenge on Nana Rose and the Lodges.
  
• Speaking of the Lodges, they want Fred to be the new mayor and Archie is butthurt because only one Andrews can be a Lodge lapdog and it’s him!
  
• Archie and V fight about her parents for the upteenth time.
  
• Archie goes to Josie to get Ciera to tell Fred what being mayor is really like and Josie is all of us in every Archie storyline!
  
• When all else fell, Archie tells Juggy that the Lodges brought Pop’s, which leads Juggy on an investigation to discover what Hiram is really planning.
• Smithers, The lodges ex doorman and driver returned to give Juggy a tip where to find info about Hiram. Also, he’s a bus driver now! At least he is alive and he still wants what is best for V!
  
• Juggy and FP visit a prison known as Chainshaw where they learn Hiram’s true plans.
  
• Hermoine is tipped off about the prison visit so Hiram decides to tell the Andrews about their plans before Juggy can publish them! Turns out he is turning Sodale High into a prison and the the Sodale area as living quarters for the prison workers.
  
• Fred wants nothing to do with it but guess who does?
  
• Archie and Hiram take a blood oath and I can’t even with Archie.
  
• Hermoine announces she is running for mayor of Riverdale which is so LOL.
  
• Juggy realizes Riverdale is doomed!
  

*****Extra Tidbits*****

• Me thinks Fred will still run for mayor.
• Alice’s thanking God she doesn’t have Blossom blood is a highlight!
• But Alice, letting your crazy murderer of a son take infant babies on a “walk” to sweetwater river . . . blinded by love. We all thought he was going to drop those babies in the river!
  
• I lost count of how many times Hiram was compared to Dracula lol
