Riverdale 3.5 The Great Escape

***Author's Note***
Hey everyone, I appreciate each and every reader and view I get. I hope Syd's life calm down so that she can return one day, but until then you have me! So, this review comes so late because have been NanoWriMo-ing (writing a novel for the month of November) and am nearly done! Stay Tuned and always know I will get the reviews up before the episode, but come next week, they should consistently be the day after once again!

This week, came off the high that was the flashback episode back to present day Riverdale. This one was pretty much all about Archie and his escape from the Hiram ran prison and fight club.

The Serpents Play D&D G&G
- As confirmed last week, when Betty walked in on them, and like most of the town ,our favorite group of friends are playing the deadly game and they are into it! This why I worry about them. I mean the whole town is too, but still . . .
- I love the fact that the serpents had no interest in helping Archie, but I'm sure that it is no coincidence that their mission was to rescue the "Red Paladin" and Archie has Kool-Aid Red colored hair.

Archie Shaw Shanks It
- So, V teamed up with a shady casino owner (who's also a teenager) to not only get in and see Archie, but to save him as well. She concocted a plan that required all of her friends to stop their own lives and participate. Luckily they all like them enough to do so and helped out.
- V, Reggie and Josie created a diversion during the illegal (and underage) fight club, so Archie could literally crawl through a sewer pipe where B & Kevin were suppose to be waiting.
- B pulls him out and gets him to safety while leading the police on a wild goose chase on a motor bike through the woods with Kevin as her passenger. (B did pretty well on the bike)
- Archie was thrown down fell down delivered to the secret bunker where V enlists everyone help to keep him hidden.
- The warden killed himself by drinking the smurf liquid rather than deal with the consequences of the Red" Paladin" escaping.

Misc.
- Before he escaped, Joquine shanked Archie, but not before kissing him to say he was sorry. This was in exchange for his freedom. About that kiss . . .Archie watched out and helped Joquine a lot in prison (because he's a nice guy) but they had a little chemistry too, just saying . . .

- I would love to hear FP's version of the Midnight club!

- Siera and Tom are engaged!

- Our cliff hanger for Turkey Day break is Juggy once again coming face to face with the Gargoyle King and he took a knee!!!!

No Riverdale for the week of Turkey Day, so we'll be back soon! Until then, stay Riverdale Strong!

Riverdale 3.4 The Midnight Club

This flashback episode is definitely on top of my list of fave episodes! I know too much is a good thing, but i seriously wouldn't mind if we had a parents flashback episode each season from here on out! It was so great even down to the 90's music!!! Here some of my other thoughts:

- The set up was B confronting Alice about G&G! So B tells us all about Riverdale circa 90's!
- Right away we see Serpent Alice taking on Hall Monitor Penelope but it's not really a fight and I expected a little more from Serpent Alice. While Hermoine and Sierra try to stop them, all four end up in attention along with FP and Fred who went streaking.

- I'm not sue who ruined the game of secrets. Penelope sad story or Alice exposing FP as Southsider.

- LOL Siera and Tom were dating in high school long before their secret fling in Season 2! Love it!

-So, who brought G&G into Riverdale? No one knows as the gang accidentally discovered it.

- I have to admit I'm really surprised that this gang of misfits would get so into what essentially seems like a D&D knockoff, but not judging. Most games are fun given a chance and it appears each one used the game to escape from their own personal lives.

- We witness a moment between FP and Hermoine (aka Juggy and V) and they have chemistry. Sadly that was followed with a Barchie/FrAlice kiss. Ew!

- There was this real funny moment where couples looked at each other and Josie Sierra looked to . . . well no one.

- So apparently Pixie Sticks are to Jingle Jangle for today's youth as Pop Rocks were to Fizzle Rocks to the 90's . . . they were literally Pop Rocks and some how they got high.

- While I enjoyed the Fred Heads, I'm okay without seeing or hearing them again. But Penelope's dancing made me LOL and makes feel even more her (probably because Cheryl aka Madelain Petsch portrays her)

- Alice has seen the gargoyle King before but come on, we all know it's this Edgar dude.

- Some how during the game, the Principle died by ingesting the blue liquid from the wrong chalice . . . that's the secret the parents are hiding and I'm not sure if Alice thinks one of the others did it, so afterwards they all hid various parts of the game (instead of destroying it) and this later confirmed by B who finds at least some of them. B goes back to the bunker to find the Serpents, Juggy, Sweet Pea, Fangs, and Choni playing G&G. God No!!!!

So, killer episode! Lili Reinhart killed it as young Alice.

I feel there was missed opportunity with young Tom Keller and young Hiram Lodge who barely had any lines.

Penelope's story is so sad. Adopted by the Blossoms to marry the man she knows as her brother. This explains so much! Speaking of Blossoms, does the actor who plays Jason and now young Clifford ever have any lines? Like ever?

I still really don't understand how this G&G game is being played by everyone. Like why? And really are the cheerleaders and jocks going to secretly be playing too, really?

This episode is one of Riverdale's best! I'd love to see a future installment. Until next week, stay #RiverdaleStrong!
