Riverdale 2.4 The Town that Dreaded Sundown

  • This week in Riverdale, Archie faced the consequences of going viral for all of the wrong reasons, Hermoine continued to be the biggest hypocrite in town, #Bughead faced some tension, and the Black Hood may not be so focused on resident Kool-Aid colored hair boy after all.
  • This week’s narration by Juggy began with admitting what we already knew: Riverdale has a serial killer!
  • Everyone is unhappy with Archie for his Red Circle video that called out the Black Hood including his father Fred and the school.

  • Hermoine even wanted to end Varchie, which is one decision I actually agree on her with.
  • V knows her man is too naive to come up with this by himself and goes directly the source that she knows planted the ideal in his head- Hiram and he played dumb.
  • After the Red Circle abandones Archie, V rallies the troops, most of the females in Riverdale High, led by our fave Cheryl.
  • Archie goes to sketchy place to purchase ammo and stuff. Then he vandalizes the Southside, believing the Black Hood must be a southsider.
  • When threatened, Archie doesn’t hesitate to show he’s packing a firearm!
  • Reggie and the team stand behind Archie after Archie doesn’t rat out Reggie for possessing a blackhood, which led to a big fight with the serpents, wanting revenge for being scared by Archie earlier.
  • During the fight, the serpents, wanting to prove they’re need to bring a knife to a fist fight, did the opposite and poor Dilton ended up getting stabbed in the leg, but he’ll be okay.
  • V broke up the fight by firing Archie’s gun in the air and convinces Archie to toss the gun into Sweetwater river because nothing ever resurfaces there . . .  right?
  • Elsewhere, the Blackhood reached out to B via letter and gave her a code that only she’d be able to decipher.
  • So B gave it to her mom, who published for everyone to see.
  • This led to Juggy teaming with Toni and ignoring B’s calls.
  • When B found out, she suggested they have a code breaking party, with Toni and Kevin (because Kevin was only mad at B between last weeks episodes and this weeks episode) and that went as well as expected.
  • Then, Juggy continued to make bad decisions and confront B over hiding the letter from the Blackhood and not telling him about . . . Gee I wonder why Juggy . . .

  • B cracks the code and the Blackhood’s letter says he’ll strike at the town meeting, a seemingly pretty obvious choice to most people.
  • #Bughead busts into the town meeting, where Alice was continued to fan the flames, dividing the North and South sides of town.
  • When no one really takes them seriously, B pulls the fire alarm and because we learned in school that a fire alarm means we drop everything and go outside, I guess #Bughead saved the day . . .
  • The end of the episode saw B receive a phone call from the Blackhood, who I am betting has a thing for favorite pony tail wearing sleuth!!! To be continued . . .

*****Extra Tidbits*****
  • Alice does know if Southside High is shut down, then all of those kids would go to school with Betty, right?
  • I would have loved to see Toni walk Kevin home.
  • This week we learned Polly successfully ran away and for those who don’t know, she went to Oz or Hyperion Heights! Polly to Once!
  • Hermoine gave an eye rolling lecture to V about blind loyalty to a man . . .

  • No Josie and the Pussycats this week and Cheryl was only seen and not heard :(
  • Why doesn’t everyone who owns black ski masks toss them away? Like right now! Go!

That’s all for this week! What will the Blackhood say to Betty? Is he in love with her or maybe her long lost brother? Hopefully we’ll find out next week! Until then, stay #RiverdaleStrong!!!
