Riverdale 3.4 The Midnight Club

This flashback episode is definitely on top of my list of fave episodes! I know too much is a good thing, but i seriously wouldn't mind if we had a parents flashback episode each season from here on out! It was so great even down to the 90's music!!! Here some of my other thoughts:

- The set up was B confronting Alice about G&G! So B tells us all about Riverdale circa 90's!
- Right away we see Serpent Alice taking on Hall Monitor Penelope but it's not really a fight and I expected a little more from Serpent Alice. While Hermoine and Sierra try to stop them, all four end up in attention along with FP and Fred who went streaking.

- I'm not sue who ruined the game of secrets. Penelope sad story or Alice exposing FP as Southsider.

- LOL Siera and Tom were dating in high school long before their secret fling in Season 2! Love it!

-So, who brought G&G into Riverdale? No one knows as the gang accidentally discovered it.

- I have to admit I'm really surprised that this gang of misfits would get so into what essentially seems like a D&D knockoff, but not judging. Most games are fun given a chance and it appears each one used the game to escape from their own personal lives.

- We witness a moment between FP and Hermoine (aka Juggy and V) and they have chemistry. Sadly that was followed with a Barchie/FrAlice kiss. Ew!

- There was this real funny moment where couples looked at each other and Josie Sierra looked to . . . well no one.

- So apparently Pixie Sticks are to Jingle Jangle for today's youth as Pop Rocks were to Fizzle Rocks to the 90's . . . they were literally Pop Rocks and some how they got high.

- While I enjoyed the Fred Heads, I'm okay without seeing or hearing them again. But Penelope's dancing made me LOL and makes feel even more her (probably because Cheryl aka Madelain Petsch portrays her)

- Alice has seen the gargoyle King before but come on, we all know it's this Edgar dude.

- Some how during the game, the Principle died by ingesting the blue liquid from the wrong chalice . . . that's the secret the parents are hiding and I'm not sure if Alice thinks one of the others did it, so afterwards they all hid various parts of the game (instead of destroying it) and this later confirmed by B who finds at least some of them. B goes back to the bunker to find the Serpents, Juggy, Sweet Pea, Fangs, and Choni playing G&G. God No!!!!

So, killer episode! Lili Reinhart killed it as young Alice.

I feel there was missed opportunity with young Tom Keller and young Hiram Lodge who barely had any lines.

Penelope's story is so sad. Adopted by the Blossoms to marry the man she knows as her brother. This explains so much! Speaking of Blossoms, does the actor who plays Jason and now young Clifford ever have any lines? Like ever?

I still really don't understand how this G&G game is being played by everyone. Like why? And really are the cheerleaders and jocks going to secretly be playing too, really?

This episode is one of Riverdale's best! I'd love to see a future installment. Until next week, stay #RiverdaleStrong!

3.3 As Above So Below

Welcome back for more randome thoughts on the latest episode of Riverdale! This week, I pulled some of my fave Twitter posts about the episode and wanted to share them here!

This week, Riverdale started out the best way possible: FP & Alice are officially a thing!!!!!

Our first big story this week was V opening her speakeasy,  the Le Bonne Nuit! Reggie seems to be her right hand man, because hey, he needs smething to do. Whenever you have a good thing going everyone wants some of the pie . . . right Penny? Hiram? Minetta (for real?).

So, V enlists the help of the show's power couple! #Chonie They break in the Whyte Worm and find Hiram's not so secret Pixie Stick Factory Jingle Jangle Lab and snap some photos to blackmail daddy dearest.

I love that the drug in Riverdale is literally pixie sticks LOL!

Resident songstress, Josie sings a great Anything goes cover.

Was I the only one thinking "NO! Don't let the vampire Hiram in! When he showed up at Pops?

While the opening we surprisingly well, we all know Hiram isn't done yet.

#Chonie refers to #Bughead as True Detective and Nancy Drew! I love it!!!

While B try to infiltrate the farm and learned Alice was spilling all:

Juggy began a game of G&G (Griffiths and Gargoyles) with Princess Ethylene. Heart attack city when Juggy had to drink from a chalice, but he survives. Ethel however, tries to kill herself and thankfully Juggy saves her!

His reward in hand, the G&G rulebook/Bible, he celebrates with B, until Falice finds it and immediately burns it! Le Sigh!

Anyone else nearly have a heart attack when Cheryl was spotted with one? It's okay, everyone has them now!

In Archie news, he's the king of the prison fight club (yawn- remember he's only suppose to be 16!)

Archie vows to escape and Jaquine is in! Poor Jaquine. Guy can never win!

PS: Ethel said B would never be worthy no matter how hard she try . . . she will turn you upside down Barb!

I was worried about Ethel but, her game is done and now she can just worship the Blair-witch like Gargoyle King . . . in the hospital . . .

Apparently we're off for a week before we come back to the flashback! I'm so excited!

Until then, stay #RiverdaleStrong

Riverdale 3.2 Fortune and Men's Eyes

Random Riverdale Thoughts:

Tonight's episode proved why it's a bad time to be a recurring character in Riverdale, just ask Dilton Doiley.

Also, as expected what B saw right before her seizure was explained away by medical reasoning.

We also met Evelyn, daughter of Edgar who runs the cult farm.

#Bughead ran into the Gargoyle King and lived to tell about it.

They also found what initially appeared to be a zombie scout, but was just actually the missing scout hiding away in Dilton's bunker.

Ethel appeared and we learn she is also in deep with this game/cult farm nonsense. I really hope they do not kill off her character. It'll be Barb all over.

We also learned that Ethel had been dating creepy Ben over the summer, but j/k it was in game thing, but no really, she claims he is her boyfriend.
Ethel also has the creepiest seizure ever while Ben "falls" out of the window.

In juvie, Archie ran into a familiar face.

He also tried to bring together Ghoulies and Serpents with a football game but Hiram was like:

And of course no football game would complete without a musical number from Josie, V, and Cheryl as they performed the Riverdale version of Jailhouse Rock along with the vixens, sans Toni.

I also totally support this Cheryl Blossom for class president bid!

Elsewhere, Kevin joined the Riverdale ROTC to be closer to Moose, who was made to join by his father.

And finally, the adults of our main players are all hiding a secret that of course connects to this Gargoyle King mystery #Bughead is trying to solve, but what is it?

That's all for this week. Next week, Archie learns what being Tapped by the warden means and more creepiness caused the gargoyle king! Until then, stay #RiverdaleStrong

Riverdale 3.1 Labor Day

Random Riverdale Thoughts with Shane Lee:

We are back and my oh my how will Riverdale top season 2: How about a crazy cult, an all sorts of Blair Witch-esque monster, and idiot teenage choice? Before all of that let's have some thoughts.

We finally have a timeline: It's the summer before junior year. Maybe we'll have a Halloween episode.

What I did on my Riverdale Summer Vacation: By the gang
- V worked at Pop's running her own place.
- B interned with Lawyer McCoy
- Choni took a cross-country motorcycle trip
- Josie and Sweat Pea had a summer fling (and I was all like Whaaaaaaaaat?)(I'd also ship them.)
- And Archie had a trial for murder that he was framed for.

South Side No more
The South Side Serpents appear to be just camping out because most of them are homeless. Last I checked, the trailer park was still standing . . . Anyway, Juggy had somehow not noticed his beloved dog Hotdog had been kidnapped by the Ghoulies, which of course was all a plan to lure Juggy there, but he brought back up! Cheryl! They rescue the pup but Serpent Queen Penny declared war on the North side.

Archie's Trial:
He's not Guilty. Mistrial. Archie (stupidly) accepts a stupid plea deal against everyone's better judgement.
To be continued . . .

Other things:
The biggest hit of the night (get it? wink, wink)

Polly has a cult now and Alive has drank the Kool-Aid of (unseen) Edgar by the gallon. Polly also has an attitude and I don't like it.

Kevin wants to make a stupid high school lose our virginity pact with Moose by like Halloween. While I ship this couple, slow down Kev!

I love when Cheryl goes red arrow!

Dilton has been hanging around with Ben, you remember him? Bad News Ben, as in whoever he hangs out with dies. See Grundy and MIA Chic. Apparently Dilton and Ben's D&D like game is real and something called the Gargoyle King is real! So says Dilton. So Juggy runs into the dark woods at night and find Ben and Dilton dead, maybe dead in a worshiping like position, with carvings in their backs.

I believe the cult are behind the mysterious symbols which connects then to the Gargoyle King.

I love that B made up Dr. Glass . . . kind of like George Glass and Polly was all like . . .

Finally! Did they . . . I think they . . . OMG did Riverdale just go full on supernatural with floating babies a Gargoyle King ripped out of the Blair Witch Woods??????? And B had a seizure!!!!

That last five minutes may have changed everything while giving us a tie to Sabrina the Teenage Witch!!!

Do you agree? Sound off in the comment section below and join us next week for more random thoughts! Until then, stay #RiverdaleStrong
